  29. Amiga's had parallel-attached drives (A1000s with parallel to SCSI adapters)
  30. before PCs had bi-directional ports.  It is NOT impossible, just unlikely,
  31. mostly because getting the information from the drive manufacturers is so
  32. %$#%$# hard.  If someone can tell me how to get all of the command interface
  33. spec's, I'll give it a try.  The same problem with the parallel E-net.

  43. This is true; neither PC's nor Amiga's can achieve SCSI rates with the
  44. available parallel ports (that I know of) due to the additional overhead
  45. of dealing with the bi-directional ports.  The SCSI port chips handle
  46. a lot of the signal "toggling" for the processor, which speeds data
  47. transfers, even without DMA.
